The necessity of searching Ilme Deen in Islam:

Allah Says, “Nor should the Believers All go forth together: If a contingent from every expedition Remained behind, they could devote themselves To studies in religion, And admonish the people when they return to them- that this they (may learn) to guard themselves (against evil)” Surah: Tawbah, Verse-122.

In this Verse Allah tells us to gain knowledge and wisdom and teach or spread true knowledge among people. Because, to worship to Allah and to be obedient to Him are the characteristics of those who are wise and completely aware of the Personality and Quality of Allah.

Allah also says, “Those truly fears Allah. Among this servants, who have knowledge.” Surah: Fatir, Verse-28.

The Prophet (Sm.) says, “It is ‘farz’ (the obligatory duty) to acquire knowledge (Islamic) for every Muslims. (Hadis: The Bayhaki, The Ibn Adi)

Rasul (Sm) also says, “Allah pours wisdom upon those whom He wishes to have welfare.  He further says, “The person who learns the Holy ‘Quran and teach it (to the people) is the best of you.”

Rasul (Sm) says, if one walks on the way in search of knowledge (Islamic), Allah makes an easier way to Jannat for him. (The Sahih Muslim)

In fine, Islam extremely imphasises both on acquiring knowledge and preaching it.

The social environment of the Jameya during establishment:

Before the establishment of the Jameya, the society of Chittagong was full of ‘shirk’ (Think of someone who is a partner of Allah or His power) and ‘bid-aat’ (religious prejudice). People were in the dark of religious misdeed and ill-based knowledge of Islam. Their religious belief and activities were either limited or mixed with ‘shirk’ (misbelief to Allah) and ‘bid-aat’ (religious prejudice). The culture and tradition of the Hindus, the West and lack of knowledge on religion dangerously impact upon them. People were seemingly in competition to degradation.

In this condition of the Muslims, four dear servants of Allah prepared themselves to sacrifice their lives to rescue the Muslims from this kind of degradation. They started their mission to rescue the Muslims from the way of misdeeds and misbeliefs and show the way to meet the Only Creator, Allah, according to perfect rules of the Holy Quran and the Holy books of Hadis. They started working persistently to divert the ill-believed people to the Holy light of Islam. They worked hard to create the value of religious feeling and carefulness and also worked in the theme on “Al-amru bil ma’rufe wan-nahue anil munkare” (Order to all good deeds and restrict from all misdeeds). For this, they established a lot of Mosques, Madrasas (religious educational institutions), Maktab (pre-primary and primary religious educational institutions) and organized the fundamental learning of Islam such as the Holy Quran, the rules of Salat (worship to Allah), Saum (fasting according to Islam) and other activities of the religion. They held a regular meeting to make new plans to improve their mission. They could realize that to establish a number of madrasas was the burning question to dispel the ignorance from the society and also felt the necessity of making a course plan from the primary level to higher level to educate the Muslims to fulfil the need of rectifying Muslim society from any prejudice.

As a part of the mission, Sheikhul Islam Allama Habibullah Quraishi (Rahmatullahi alaih) associated by his three fellows, Sheikhul Kul Allama Abdul Wahed (Rahmatullahi alaih) (Death- 1323 Hizri), Sufi-e-Zaman Allama Sufi Azizur Rahman (Rahmatullahi alaih)  (Death- 1340 Hizri), Munazere Zaman Allama Abdul Hamid (Rahmatullahi alaih)  (Death – 1338 Hizri)  established a Madrasa in 1319 Hizri  (1901 A.D.) which is nowadays known as “Al-Jameyatul Ahliah Darool Uloom Muinul Islam’’ (Darul Uloom Hathazari), Chittagong, Bangladesh. Allah has grant the eagerness and sacrifice of the founders of the madrasa. The perfect light of Islam is spread by this madrasa not only in Chittagong territory but also all over Bangladesh, even throughout the world. Allah has granted His kindness and satisfaction to this madrasa handled over the four great founders and spread its name and fame throughout the world because of its patronizing by the Hakimul Ummat Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanovee (Rahmatullahi alaih) and Sheikhul Mashayekh Hazrat Maulana Shah Zamir Uddin (Rahmatullahi alaih).
